Based on one of Hans Christian Andersen's most beloved stories and the classic animated film, Disney's The Little Mermaid is a hauntingly beautiful love story for the ages. With music by eight-time Academy Award winner, Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Glenn Slater and a compelling book by Doug Wright, this fishy fable will capture your heart with its irresistible songs, including "Under the Sea," "Kiss the Girl" and "Part of Your World."

Many Poly teachers and students are working overtime across departments to bring this production to life. The lavish underwater set designed by Sebastian Villar is built by Long Beach Poly’s talented and hardworking stage crew, under the direction of Victoria Gathe-Rosado and Elizabeth Lozada. Poly’s Grammy award-winning music program supplies our live pit orchestra under the music direction of Brian Dokko.  The production is directed by Theatre Arts teacher Linda Bon, featuring choreography by Broadway veteran Kim Arnett.
This Long Beach Poly production will be adjudicated in twelve performance and technical categories by the Jerry Herman Awards of the Hollywood Pantages Theatre, and select participants will also be competing in the Musical Theatre West Footlighters Awards.
